Early in our marriage, my wife would often encourage me to eat more vegetables. She would tell me that it’s healthy, part of a balanced diet, etc. Overall, I could limit carbs and meat and add a salad, for example.
My response would always be the same. Should I follow the example of Bani Israel, who were not satisfied with al-mann and al-salwa (essentially a carb and meat) and preferred veggies?
She wasn’t amused. 🙂
