The Prophet Did Not Make Predictions

Language note: saying that the Prophet ﷺ “made predictions” is not the best phraseology. According to the most common connotation of the word “prediction,” a person that predicts something does not have certain knowledge about that thing occurring. He is just estimating or surmising based on inferring from available evidence. But this is not accurate of the Prophet ﷺ who did have certain knowledge from Allah about future events and was sometimes shown them. It would be more precise in English to say that the Prophet ﷺ prophesied future events, or foretold of them.
