For those of you debating/discussing Bruce Jenner and transsexualism, stop living in the past! It’s 2015 for God’s sake! We’re way past people challenging, bending, and breaking gender roles. Ever heard of an otherkin, i.e., someone who feels like he is partly or fully an animal but he is stuck in the body of a person? How about a fictive, i.e., someone who feels he is partly or fully a fictional character or inanimate object stuck in the body of a person? Have you ever met someone transethnic? Or transabled, i.e., someone who feels he should or should not have physical abilities that he does not or does have? How about a transfat person, i.e., someone who is physically obese but has the mind/spirit/psyche of a thin person, or vice versa?
All of these terms are real and there are communities of people who fall under each. And they are very, very serious about themselves and their fight for social acceptance.
