Why is it “LGBT”? Why that specific order of letters? Are Lesbians more important than Gays, Bisexuals, and Transsexuals? Are L’s, G’s, and B’s somehow ahead of T’s? Why not “TLGB”? This naming convention is highly prejudiced, sexist, and cis-centric and I can’t believe how anyone in good conscience could propagate this hate. From now on, I demand we cease using LGBT and instead use TLBG/TLGB/LTBG/LTGB/TGBL/TGLB/GTBL/GTLB/… … … Oh, but wait. TLBG is still in the front and that’s not fair either…Why is the English language so inherently hateful?! Clearly, syntax, word order, left-to-right script, and directionality in language and thought are ALL relics of our patriarchal past and must be EXPUNGED. No more language!

(This is what goes through my simple head when someone whines and moans about pronoun usage, he vs. she vs. he/she vs. xe vs. whatever or why God is referred to as “He” and how that is sexist blah blah blah.)

Language and Thought are Relics of Our Patriarchal Past – Part 1Why is it "LGBT"? Why that specific order of letters?…
