Funny Story: Shaking Hands with the Opposite Sex

Back in the day, a group of Muslim brothers were talking about their strategies for dealing with the social awkwardness that comes from politely declining to shake the outstretched hand of a non-mahram woman you have just met.

Some brothers suggested simply explaining that we don’t shake hands for religious reasons. Others suggested just making an exaggerated gesture of coughing into one’s hand so that not shaking would be understandable on account of hygiene.

This whole time, one particular brother had not said anything. So we ask him, what do you think? He stroked his beard confidently. “I have the perfect line to smooth over the situation.”

“What is it??” we asked impatiently, thinking he had some special key the rest of us had been too dimwitted to come up with all this time.

“I just smile and tell them this…

…I haven’t earned the right to touch you.”

LOL

He was completely serious! Needless to say, we advised him that he might be giving these women mixed signals and that he should reconsider his wording…

If only non-Muslim women knew the extent some Muslim guys go to in order to be polite and cordial without compromising their values. Sometimes with hilarious results!

  1. Hiya! Quick question that’s completely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My site looks weird when browsing from my iphone. I’m trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to resolve this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. Appreciate it!|

  2. Hi there! This article could not be written any better! Looking through this article reminds me of my previous roommate! He continually kept preaching about this. I will send this information to him. Fairly certain he’ll have a very good read. I appreciate you for sharing!|

  3. Thanks for the advice on credit repair on this excellent site. Some tips i would tell people should be to give up this mentality that they may buy currently and fork out later. Being a society many of us tend to make this happen for many issues. This includes vacation trips, furniture, along with items we’d like. However, you’ll want to separate your current wants out of the needs. If you are working to boost your credit score actually you need some trade-offs. For example you’ll be able to shop online to save cash or you can look at second hand merchants instead of high-priced department stores pertaining to clothing.
