When a person comes to us and says, 2+2=5, we don’t say that there is no fact of the matter about arithmetic and it is all a matter of personal, private opinion, and there is no way to tell what 2+2 equals, and all that matters is that we are good people, etc., etc.

No. We say, this person needs to be taught arithmetic because there is a defect in his understanding.

When a person comes to us and says, the moon is made of cheese, we don’t say that there is no fact of the matter about lunar composition and it is all a matter of personal, private opinion, and there is no way to tell what the moon is made of, and all that matters is that we are good people, etc., etc.

No. We say, this person needs to be taught astronomy because there is a defect in his understanding.

But when a person comes to us and says, there is no God or God is one in three or cows are gods, some would have us say that there is no fact of the matter about God and religion and it is all a matter of personal, private opinion, and there is no way to tell if there is a God and which religion is correct, and all that matters is that we are good people, etc., etc.

No. We say, this person needs to be taught the Truth because there is a defect in his understanding.
