Muslims never accepted that having faith, much less radiant faith, meant shutting off your mind. To the contrary, reflection and thought bolsters faith, enriches and enlivens it.

As-Suyuti reported: Amir ibn Abdi Qais, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “I heard from more than one or two or three of the companions of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, that they said the radiance or light of faith is in reflection (tafakkur).”
