“Sexist” Phrases That Have Been Banned

Students and staff face disciplinary consequences if they use terms like “mankind,” “forefathers,” “layman,” etc.

Regardless of what this UK university has instituted as official policy, virtually all academic departments in the US and UK look down on the use of “gendered” language and consider it sexist. So even though the majority of universities don’t have official policies, failing to adhere to these novel standards of language can nonetheless have severe consequences for one’s academic career.

  1. What’s so sexist about mankind tho? It’s just a shortened version of human kind. I swear these femenazis are on a different level.

  2. This is why the UK (specially UK liberalism) is becoming more of a laughing stock with passing time. Superficial gestures and virtue signaling do not make up for the 300 years of conquering other nations and subjugating and committing atrocities against the natives, especially when you still benefit from said colonialism and those nations are still suffering from the consequences of it.
