Democracy in action. They should just continue to put the same referendum on whether the UK should stay in the EU up for a vote over and over again until the “correct” outcome is reached. Of course what is or is not correct or has the most benefit for people is irrelevant. Democracy inherently assumes a kind of nihilism in that regard. Who’s to say what is right or wrong, more or less beneficial? Different people have different opinions, so there’s no fact of the matter, at least not one we can implement. All that matters is that people register their opinions. That’s where the true value lies. So the more opportunities to vote, even if it’s on the same issue, the better. The same referendum repeated perpetually till the end of time. That is the logical end of democracy.
