All Americans will soon have to sign an oath of undying loyalty to the state of Israel or face the brutal lash of state repression.
A children’s speech pathologist [Bahia Amawi] who has worked for the last nine years with developmentally disabled, autistic, and speech-impaired elementary school students in Austin, Texas, has been told that she can no longer work with the public school district, after she refused to sign an oath vowing that she “does not” and “will not” engage in a boycott of Israel.
This Palestinian Muslim sister, Bahia Amawi, mother of four children of her own, has helped children with developmental disabilities learn how to speak. How ironic that her employer, the state of Texas, took away her ability to speak — to speak against the vile Zionist empire.
In order to continue to work, Amawi would be perfectly free to engage in any political activism against her own country, participate in an economic boycott of any state or city within the U.S., or work against the policies of any other government in the world — except Israel.
In other words, to work as an employee of the state of Texas, you essentially have to promise to buy Israeli goods and services. You could choose to boycott literally anything else. As an American, you could boycott any American company. As an American, you could boycott, say, the companies of the President of the United States, Donald Trump. But you absolutely cannot boycott Israel. That’s how much of a stranglehold the Cancer of the Middle East has on US politics.
When asked if she considered signing the pledge to preserve her ability to work, Amawi told The Intercept: “Absolutely not. I couldn’t in good conscience do that. If I did, I would not only be betraying Palestinians suffering under an occupation that I believe is unjust and thus, become complicit in their repression.
Look at how principled this is. Look at the clear moral line she draws and the sacrifice she makes in order to not cross that line. What’s more important? Having a job to support your four young children or not betraying your Muslim brothers and sisters?
May Allah reward this sister and her family without measure for the sacrifices they are making for the Umma. May Allah give us all the strength to stand strong in the face of pressure, pressure to stab our brothers and sisters in the back for our own financial gain and career aspirations. Amin!
Another interesting point noted in The Intercept article:
Democratic Governor of New York Andrew Cuomo proudly tweeted: “If you boycott Israel, New York State will boycott you.” What made Cuomo’s censorship directive particularly stunning was that, just two months prior to issuing this decree, he ordered New York state agencies to boycott North Carolina in protest of that state’s anti-LGBT law. Two years earlier, Cuomo banned New York state employees from all nonessential travel to Indiana to boycott that state’s enactment of an anti-LGBT law.
So Cuomo mandated that his own state employees boycott two other states within his own country, a boycott that by design would harm U.S. businesses, while prohibiting New York’s private citizens from supporting a similar boycott of a foreign nation upon pain of being barred from receiving contracts from the state of New York.
Coincidence that some of the most rabid Zionists are also furiously pushing LGBT? Embrace the terror state of Israel and the sodomites, otherwise feel our wrath! And the Muslim community, sadly, is not spared from having our own terror-state-sodomite-loving activists.
Most states have already legislated anti-BDS laws. How insecure do these Zionists have to be to deploy such a massive legislative campaign across the Western world? Can you imagine how many hundreds of millions of dollars the Israeli Lobby has spent just to fight back against BDS? Good thing Israel gets billions of dollars in aid from the US to recoup the money it loses flexing its tentacle grip around our collective throats.
Anyway, I hope the Muslim community will soon create a fund raising campaign for the sister. If American Muslims are collecting hundreds of thousands of dollars to fix overturned tombstones at a synagogue’s cemetery, what an embarrassment if we can’t raise at least two, three, four times that amount for our oppressed sister who is doing so much for us.
