The Outlandish Beliefs of Atheists and Naturalists

Anything except God.

Naturalists and atheists will propose any theory no matter how outlandish to avoid having to admit the existence of God.

Is the universe a massive computer simulation created by aliens?

Very likely!

Is the universe just one instantiation of an infinite number of other universes in a much larger but undetectable multiverse?

Seems reasonable!

Is the universe one massive, integrated consciousness that controls itself?

Probably!

Is the universe just the disembodied intelligence of advanced alien life forms?

Sounds cool!

Is the universe the creation of an All-Powerful Divine Creator?

OMG, how irrational? How silly? Is this the stone age? Do you believe in fairy tales?

_____________

Why are the world’s leading scientists proposing these farfetched theories in the first place?

Because they realize that a pure physicalist explanation of the world is not adequate. They realize that a purely naturalistic picture can’t answer the biggest, most pressing questions. They recognize that the universe has all the appearances of being designed, created as if there is some intentionality and will behind it all. But they refuse to admit that what they really have in mind is God.

So they have to come up with aliens, computer simulations, and other just-so stories to make sense of what is nonsensical as far as strict materialism is concerned.

Maybe one day they will unbury the truth that they have worked so hard to cover.

Yes this is so true. There is a kind of uneasiness among the mostly-materialistic scientific community due to all the evidence that their own fields reveal that points towards a meaningful and purposeful universe. That is why a lot of silly, incredible and baseless theories to avoid the obvious conclusion are suddenly popping up in science discourse. But the evidence will only become clearer and clearer, as Allah says in Surah Fussilat (41):

“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that this ˹Quran˺ is the truth. Is it not enough that your Lord is a Witness over all things?” [Verse 53]

As an ex-atheist, this resonates with me strongly. They’ll go to any length, no matter how absurd it may seem, to deny the Creator. May Allah open their hearts to the Haqq

“For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountain of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.”

Arrogant people tend to believe in the prospects for the development of the once-invented digital world/AI technology to the degree that makes operator intervention unnecessary and even turns the very control over human being real, but they run away from the assumption that they themselves were created by the Might of the Only Eternal One who possesses an infinite power, knowledge, control and doesn’t need a Creator, yet as a Good/Merciful Guardian sent messages/guidelines through the chosen Messengers in accordance with our limited abilities to comprehend. He granted us with a choice, whilst each our step and actions are constantly watched and examined.

And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.

And even if We opened for them a gate to heaven, through which they continued to ascend, still they would say, “Our eyes have truly been dazzled! In fact, we must have been bewitched.”

The joke of it all is when you tell them of hellfire and unending stay therein, they draw long faces saying ‘Islam lacks mercy’, wanting to go to a paradise they don’t believe exists!

Talk about sense of entitlement!

This is true for all kafirs.

The only people who do not throw a hissy fit when they’re told they won’t go to a heaven they don’t believe in, are Muslims. If a Hindu told a Muslim we won’t go to what they call heaven, we say of course, ‘coz it doesn’t exist. If Catholics or Jews tell us we won’t go to the heaven that Moses or Jesus believe in, we tell them rather it’s them who won’t go to the heaven that Moses or Jesus believe in, lest they also accept Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him and all prophets of Allah) and all that he brought.
