Onward, the Zionist Project Continues with Unimaginable Cruelty

The Zionist project is making great strides. Even despite concerns over a rise in violence from Palestinians, the Israeli state presses on with its cause.

Thursday, May 5 was Israeli “independence day.” On that day, two Palestinians stabbed multiple people in the ultra-Orthodox town of Elad near Tel Aviv, killing at least three and wounding at least four.

On Sunday, two Palestinians were killed in unrelated incidents in the West Bank. One was killed while he was trying to sneak across a checkpoint barrier, the other was killed after allegedly stabbing an Israeli officer.

The two suspects in the stabbing were also apprehended, with Bennett announcing that his forces had apprehended “terrorists awash with incitement who killed with axes and unimaginable cruelty.”

Unimaginable? Really? Look up an picture of the 2014 war in Gaza, it’ pretty unimaginable. Or how about all the settler violence that goes one with little repercussions for the perpetrators. How about 74 years of all this?

The military has announced it was preparing to destroy the homes of the two suspects in the village of Rummanah. I guess it’s just too good of an opportunity to pass up for this bastion of democracy in the Middle East. It’s one thing to arrest them; it’s quite another to destroy their homes at the same time. Who else lives there? Their mothers? What unimaginable cruelty.

Israel has also announced that they’re continuing to go forward with their plan to build 4,000 more settlement homes. Even the Biden administration opposes it. For the Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked (formerly and hilariously the Minister of Justice), though, this is a no-brainer. She’s the same person who has called for war on all Palestinians:

“Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. Actors in the war are those who incite in mosques, who write the murderous curricula for schools, who give shelter, who provide vehicles, and all those who honor and give them their moral support. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there.”

What unimaginable cruelty.

In response to all that has been going on, Bennett announced Israel now establishing a civil national guard, the purpose of which is “to restore personal security to Israeli citizens.” Again, that’s Israeli citizens, and we can probably assume it doesn’t really include Palestinian citizens of Israel.

This uptick in violence appears to be primarily helping to galvanize the Israeli side. And through it all, it is still more Palestinians than Israelis who have died (at least 18 Israelis and more than 30 Palestinians, among those an unarmed woman and two bystanders, according to the AP). It’s frankly hard to see any positive advancements made on the Palestinian side.

Nakba day is this Sunday, May 15.
