There is no Muslim public figure who is more dedicated to normalizing gender mixing and pushing images of young female models in makeup than Omar Suleiman.

First thing to note is how Suleiman himself practices gender mixing. If this were a one-time or two-time occurrence, we could chalk it up to a mistake or lapse and overlook that.
But with Suleiman, this is a regular practice. This is why he has earned the well-deserved title:

Imam Sandwich.

I personally don’t know any man, Muslim or non-Muslim, who has been sandwiched by non-mahram women as much as this, let alone had this many public pictures of it.

But this “imam” — who some hilariously think is a “scholar” — has an entire portfolio.

Mufti Knittin makes an appearance.

Always with a big smile.

Why does Suleiman so frequently pose for pictures w/ women, especially pics he knows will be publicly posted? Does he want people to think that this mixing is Islamically acceptable?

Consider his Yaqeen Inst (popularly known as Yasqueen Inst). They regularly post closeup pictures of young models with makeup.

How is this Islamically acceptable?

Yaqeen also posts pictures of women with no hijab.

PS – Loosely wrapped scarves are not hijab.

PPS – One of these speakers is an openly queer instagram dancer. (Read our Review of Yaqeen to find out who.) That didn’t stop Yaqueer from promoting her and publishing her papers.

Neither Yaqeen Institute nor Suleiman have ever attempted to Islamically justify this practice. They seem to believe that they are beyond having to refer their behavior to the Quran and Sunna.

They just want to keep pushing this hoping that no one will object.

What is disturbing is that Yaqeen claims a “commitment to scholarly rigor.” Sounds serious.

But then, look at their review board.

And a few women w/ tabarruj pfp’s.

These are “scholars.”

In Ramadan, Yaqeen really ramped up the tabarruj and the mixing.

In multiple vids, Suleiman has intimate discussions with sisters about what they want most in Janna. The videos zoom in on the sisters’ faces repeatedly.

Who would find this acceptable for his mother or sister?

Nutella river? Really cringeworthy tripe.

But Suleiman’s push for mixing is not limited to Yaqeen. His Almaghrib Inst, which is ironically dedicated to teaching the Islamic sciences, also constantly uses close up photos of young female models to advertise their courses.

Yaqeen also promotes mixing in videos, showing non-mahram youth — some without hijab — sitting in circles giggling and smiling at each other.

What is more normalizing of gender mixing (ikhtilat) and immodesty than this?

Other examples: Suleiman’s interfaith activism. The pagan ritual event is infamous. Plenty of unrestricted mixing & joint prayer happened at this event.

Suleiman to this day defends it & only admitted some minor “lapses” as an excuse for himself when there was too much backlash.

He had the audacity to post this on his own instagram.

But there are many other examples. For example, this Jewish holiday ritual/event Suleiman attended.

Put aside the haram and potential heretical nature of attending such an event as a Muslim, let alone imam. He also has to literally rub shoulders with their women.

Why does Suleiman insist on this obvious violation of Islamic norms?

The answer is feminism.

Suleiman features closeups of himself in vids and ads. Where is the equality?

If he can show himself like that, why can’t sisters show themselves in exactly the same way?

Mixing & tabarruj as “female empowerment” are also crucial to liberalism. Suleiman endorses these ideas with his actions and what his institutes put out.

This is part of his sick “compassion.” Not engaging in these things would “turn ppl away.” This is how deviance is justified.

He is obviously not man enough to tell the women and simps that this is a violation of Islamic modesty. His thousands of feminist & simp fans would go insane if they didn’t see female representation.

So I think his moral failing is more cowardice than ignorance.

The shaykhs are enjoying a good laugh with the sister in Ramadan.

Whether ignorance or cowardice, the end result is the same. Suleiman is not fit to be an imam or teacher of Islam. His cowardice has led to tangible misguidance.

You would not believe how normalized gender mixing has become in **religious** Muslim circles in the US and even masajid.

Suleiman’s tabarruj dawah is to blame in large part.

So what should we do?

Call it out.

Refuse to support this man and his orgs.

Stop making lame excuses “he does so much good.”

Even assuming he does, how is that an excuse for pushing deviance and this destructive innovation that is corrupting the Ummah?

Enough is enough.
