A few months back, I had shared some thoughts on mixed marriages, especially within the context of our diverse Western society. Time has passed, but it remains a hot topic, especially on French social media.
Let’s talk about what’s happening within the community of the Maghreb. Recently, there’s been a concerning rise in nationalistic movements, and unfortunately, they’re pushing a narrative that is not only divisive but outright hostile towards black individuals. This hostility is particularly severe in relation to Arab women who choose to marry black men, subjecting them to very unfair and harsh criticisms.
It is extremely worrying to see how this issue has escalated to such a degree. Mixed-race couples, especially those involving a Maghrebi woman and a black man or a Maghrebi man and a white woman, are facing increasing levels of harassment. This isn’t merely wrong; it goes against the principles of respect and tolerance.

In the video: “I love Arabs with curly hair.”
In the tweet: “It’s absurd to wear a Moroccan jersey when you’re a ni***r.”
My previous take on this still stands: quite often, a Maghrebi Frenchwoman might actually have more in common with a black man who was born and raised in France than a man from Morocco. But the ongoing controversy seems to have completely lost touch with this reality, instead veering regretfully into the region of racial bias.

Now, let’s take a moment to think about the bigger picture. It’s really none of our business to meddle in who marries whom. There’s great wisdom in the words of the Prophet ﷺ, reported by Abu Hurairah:
It has been narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: “It is from the excellence of (a believing) person’s Islam that they abandon whatever does not concern them.” (Jami’ al-Tirmidhi)
Imagine this:
You’re enjoying a peaceful day by the river with your precious, beloved family. Out of the blue, some random person walks up to you and insists they’re a better match for your spouse than you are. Sounds quite absurd, right? Well, that’s precisely the kind of discomfort and unease these marriage debates are creating.
It’s one thing to for someone to have a personal preference and to prefer marrying within their own ethnic group, but it’s an entirely different thing for someone to feel anger or frustration over a Muslim woman choosing a spouse from a different ethnic background. This sentiment highlights yet another significant conflict between the racist tendencies of nationalism and the inclusive spirit of Islam.
To wrap it up, this trend of poking our noses into the marital choices of others is not just unhealthy, but it also goes against the essence of what Islam teaches us about brotherhood and faith. We should be championing and celebrating our shared beliefs and values, as well as respecting the individual choices of our fellow brothers and sisters.

here is billy
billy is proud of his culture
billy does not put it above his deen
billy respects other cultures as long as they are halal
be like billy
I am from algerian descent and I love my 100% algerian family so much that I’ll marry my two kids with Algerians so as to maintain my blood, my roots, my tongue and my whole inheritage. Moreover, i will try to marry them with people from my own clan and tribe. Am I rascist ? No. I am more than boring with this races mixing propaganda, especially when it is muslimwashed. Even if I am not french, i feel sad for French when I see adverts with numerous brown people and english catchphrases. Sorry.
Muslimwashed ? Algeria belongs to the Muslims, the whole Maghreb does. And feeling sad for the French when they enslaved your people like cattle is sad.
Especially since they hate the Algerians which they call “Arabs” with a passion.
We are constantly on the verge of civil war here because the yahood keep trying to create division.
most Algerians ARE Arabs brother this ain’t some French invention but yes they try to create division always
Are you retarded? 😂 my friend believe me nobody from Algeria wants your genes or your roots to be passed on because you’d raise pathetic excuses for Arab children and in terms of your “tongue” that’ll be passed on either way so get over yourself and this isn’t “muslimwashed” it’s simply the objective truth that you’re to racist to see and you should never feel bad for the French EVER you if all people should know that
That’s fine as long as you don’t shame or stigamztie or have a problem with others marrying outside their group you ain’t a racist . I would encourage Muslims in the west to marry with white or black reverts so that over time they become native white or black Muslims themselves but if they don’t want to that’s their choice just like it’s your choice
im not against mix marriage but it shouldnt be encouraged because mix marriage lead to destroy ethnic identity and language, marry within the ethnic should be encourage
Imam San’ani said: “It is proved that Bilal (freed slave) married Halah Bint ‘Auwf the sister of Abdur Rahman Bin ‘Auwf” (From the tribe of Quraish).
Therefore, the basis is the religion; any other criteria should come after it. All other standards have both negative and positive sides such as beauty, lineage, wealth and difference in culture and race. But the criterion of religion is free from negative sides provided the intention is correct and the relig
I am an algerian to. You know very well. that we have a huge racism problem in our country. And it’s not even about color, it’s about culture ( amazigh vs arab)This problem is specifically exacerbated by people with no or very little to do with our beloved religion. fortunately, we have very reasonable people (mainly people with a good understanding of islam) to counterweight this backward ways of thinking.
Bro, I really think it’s fine up to the moment you start hating other pious Muslims who married in mixed marriage when their relationship is 100% halal.
Or, when it goes to a point where someone looks at another man’s wife, and starts thinking, “I am more suited for her than this black/white/brown man”, then it starts to look weird and pathetic.
A lot of French arab even consider that the only Arab women who want to marry black men are those with sexual fetishes, Allah al mustaane.
The thing they cry the most about is Black men marrying White, Arab or Asian women.
The truth is, it comes from racism. They think the Black men is inferior, therefore they see at a polluting their gene pool.
But people also cry about other mixed marriages, just that to what I’ve seen, this is the most “taboo” one.
This is the underlying reasoning that most will not admit.
Which is not an acceptable or correct reasoning in Islam.
If Islam diminishes in a region, it seems the people revert to their initial condition. For most of the Maghreb looks like it is tribalism.
I don’t know if it applies to Egypt, Irak or Syria or other Muslim nations however, since those were nation state for thousands of years.
Sorry for yapping so much.
Is a wali allowed to deny his daughter from marrying someone due to their race? Ie, Is a non black father allowed to deny his non black daughter from marrying a black man due to him not wanting her to marry a black man?
Lets say hypothetically, I have a daughter, and a black south african muslim wants to marry my daughter, and she wants to marry him. Can I deny her from marrying him due to black south africans having very high rates of zina, r*pe, and HIV?
Sure, fair enough but if the man is a righteous muslim you should be fine with her marrying him if she likes him.
in your hypothetical scenario, it is a black south african MUSLIM.
So, rate of HIV, rape or zina in your case would be very low, because he is a MUSLIM.
What happens most of the time, is that an Algerian born in the UK will be stopped from marrying a South African born in the UK.
Is there a higher rate of r*pe, HIV, in UK-born South Africans?
I am not speaking about marrying your daughter to someone from a foreign country, everybody would be uncomfortable about marrying his daughter to a foreigner, and I would be even if we are from the same ethnicity.
I am speaking about clear cases of racism, what about those?
How can these people except for immigrants to become white if they don’t intermarry with them and encourage them to become part of white natives? And I am talking vise versa for both Muslim and non Muslim . If people wants marry with their own group that’s fine but they shouldn’t ban or shame or stigmatize others who wants to Marry outside their group.
we are not against ethnic mix and we shouldn’t harass those but corporate and zionists artificially promoting mix marriage and that lead to destroying ones ethnic and language
mix couples kids will not belongs to any ethnic
Thank you. If it was only about beauty, I prefer indian, european or south-east Asia women rather than algerian average woman. As I wanted to increase chances for my mariage to succeed, plus perserve my inheritage, my previous wife and my current wife are algerians. So it will be, incha’Allah, for my kids. Foreigner have very few chances to marry my kids, even if they are pious, rich and handsome.
You are not Allowed to forcefully marry your Children nor do you have any Authority to deny mix marriage of your children. Their Allah given life, their Allah given rights. Hope that is clear.
I agree with you to a point.
The thing is, in a normal, balanced society, mixed marriage has always been a minority, and so, was not a problem.
Bro, half of the arab tribes come from the union between a non-Arab (Ismail) and an Arab (a woman from Jurhum).
In our time, the question gets harder, because of globalization who naturally increase the number of mixed marriages.
Now, you raised a fair point, but having seen dozens of family that did not mix AT ALL, but still liberalized and lost their culture/language, I think the problem is deeper than that, and I am afraid that this excuse of preserving culture and language is often used as a distraction to hide the real problem (racism).
zionists weren’t the ones who started promoting mixed marriages blud as for the identity thing yeah that can happen but Muslims can work it out plus most people end up figuring it out.
Just say you are racist. Your comment exposed your racism. Your concern is only valid because people like you have allegiances based on things (races) other than the deen. If we started ignoring what races we are of (which is a nonsensical concept based on surface-level differences anyway), then them not belonging to any particular ethnic group would be irrelevant because the only important group would be the Ummah since allegiance and treatments wouldn’t be based on anything beside Islam.
Is there going to be any scholar discussing this topic who doesn’t insert liberalism into isalm
If we aren’t from same culture then no compatibility
No compatibility means divorce in long run
So no you ain’t marrying my daughter if we aren’t from same culture
liberalism destroys your culture and inserts itself as dominant culture that’s why liberals find it easy to marry each other even if they are from different ethnicity because you are liberal first then pakistani indian Arab
Honestly if you were connected to your culture deeply you would find it very hard to marry outside and yes we do give up things in our cultures that are against Islam still looking for compatible spouse for your daughter isn’t wrong Islamically
If you arent a liberal Muslim but liberalism has still destroyed your connection to your culture and you marry outside your ethnicity then I wish you blessed marriage even though it does make me feel uneasy but if Allah fearing scholar can disprove my points then I will follow Islam over my opinion
scholars need to discuss this without inserting liberal race mixing culture mixing nonsense into it I am only giving my opinion I could be wrong so enjoin good and forbid evil Allahu Alam
Honestly without racism colorism etc
there is genuine uneasiness I feel when I see race mixing.
this culture mixing liberal hodge podge does need to be stopped no wonder scholars keep telling Muslims you must not do hijrah to darul harb
What do you guys think?
Allahu Alam
