When we think of “popular art,” the first and most prominent thing to usually come to the minds of most people is cinema, even more so than music. This is because of all the money that is involved (production value, tickets sold, etc., equals an industry worth billions) and also the actors, who become secular deities of sorts, with many adorning their rooms with posters of their faces or or of them striking heroic poses, etc. They even go so far as to try and emulate them to the best of their ability, despite the fact that they are far from being models of virtue.
Similar to idols, cinema is mainly about images, and like idolatry, beautified by Shaytan, it gains a certain power of attraction that seems almost mystical, serving the observers something larger, more transcendent, in comparison to their everyday life. The late Ingmar Bergman—considered one of the most influential movie directors and whose own movies were ambiguous in the way they portrayed women and even traditional religious questions (The Seventh Seal, 1957)—summarized, probably the best, this approach to films as a sort of secular religiosity.
To quote him:
Film has dream, film has music. No form of art goes beyond ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight room of the soul. A little twitch in our optic nerve, a shock effect: twenty-four illuminated frames in a second, darkness in between, the optic nerve incapable of registering darkness. At the editing table, when I run the trip of film through, frame by frame, I still feel that dizzy sense of magic of my childhood: in the darkness of the wardrobe, I slowly wind one frame after another, see almost imperceptible changes, wind faster — a movement.
Of course, Hollywood in particular has played a sinister role, being more prolific and more universal than all other forms of national cinema, mainly due to the United States’ power projection and economic stature (we covered the dark side of Hollywood in an earlier article).
Let us take a look at how cinema conveys a certain ideology, while analyzing roughly a century of its history, albeit only minimally.

“Hitlerian Cinema”?
German Expressionism was one of the most important European artistic movements during the beginning of the last century, even though it remains unknown in the modern popular consciousness, unlike Surrealism (France) and Futurism (Italy), for example.
Yet it was quite prolific and influential, especially in cinema. Among its representative movies are Metropolis (1927) and M (1931), both by Fritz Lang; and a few years earlier, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) by Robert Wiene. The latter popularized narrative techniques that are now almost clichés, such as the final twist (“plot twist”) or the idea of the unreliable narrator, with some even considering to have inaugurated the “thriller” genre.
German Expressionist cinema was characterized by the ambiguity, both moral and physical, of its characters (especially the protagonists). The set designs defied geometry, and the protagonist had extravagant expressions or clothes and always manifested a dubious sense of morality.
More generally, German Expressionism has been described as conveying apocalyptic-messianic tendencies. It was primarily anthropology, a discourse about man as man (unlike contemporary modernist movements like Futurism and Vorticism, which favored the machine) that combined a constructive political project (unlike the “nihilistic” tone of the Dadaists, who wanted to destroy the bourgeois world with no palpable alternative) with a cosmic, not to say metaphysical, vision of humanity (as opposed to Surrealism and its implicit Freudianism). It was thus, by its very nature, a critique of modernity. “The Adding Machine” by Elmer Rice is considered to be the best American play with German Expressionist tendencies, and it is a ferocious critique of the progressive technologization that subjugates man to the machine before replacing man himself with the machine. Rice had also anticipated, as early on as the 1920s, what is now, a century later, referred to as the danger of AI automation.

It is therefore not without reason that Siegfried Kracauer (we had mentioned him in an older article about detectives), who authored an entire book on German Expressionist cinema, said that it prepared German society for Hitler. The reasoning being that the introduction of the ambiguous main character in an apocalyptic-messianic atmosphere with skepticism towards the modern world could only be translated into charismatic leaders. (The film critic Lotte Eisner refutes this exclusively “Nazifying” interpretation in a book that was published after the Second World War.)
German Expressionism still remains relevant, as it has influenced prominent American movie directors such as David Lynch and Tim Burton, whose character of “The Penguin” in Batman Returns (1992) is inspired by the aesthetics of a movie we’ve already mentioned, The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari.

Superhero or the Aesthetics of American Imperialism
In the last 15 years or so, superhero movies and animated series have emerged as some of the most profitable ventures for producers due to the money that they generate. All of these franchises from our youth (Batman, Superman, etc.) have been milked to death in different forms of media and consumerist objectification, through everything from big budget movies to toys for little children.
This presence that saturates our everyday lives has to be rationalized. It just can’t happen to be the case that superheroes have become so fashionable without interests extending beyond mere entertainment.
To begin with, very few have analyzed the superhero as an archetype. The late literary critic, Umberto Eco, perhaps Italy’s best-known modern intellectual, had penned an essay in the 1970s, The Myth of Superman, where he tried to analyze the Superman archetype from different angles, mostly related to ancient mythology and modern psychology.
However, I think that many have completely missed the idea of the superhero being an incarnation of American imperialism. Think about it. The superhero is defined by his superpowers. Just as the modern West imposes its superiority by means of its newest technologies, the superhero moves wherever he wants, whether at the city level (Batman and Gotham) or on the global level (Superman). The point is, there’s no sovereignty. No territory limits his “ideals.” Similarly, the USA can navigate all over the world however it wishes as long as it can impose its liberal ideals (think of Iraq). Another aspect is that the superhero is rarely ever appreciated. His identity is hidden to the common folk as they simply wouldn’t understand him. This is comparable to the USA, being criticized despite supposedly trying “to do good,” eternally “misunderstood” on a geopolitical scale.
In the same way that James Bond is a postcolonial reconstruction of English masculinity—the aristocratic English can’t openly “save the world” through colonialism and have to do it as a spy—, the superhero is also a symbol of American imperialism: technologically conquering, motivated by ideals but also, in a form of self-criticism, aware that his actions won’t be viewed with any sort of consensus.
If the superhero ended up being “in” again during the Obama administration and thereafter, I do believe that it was a way for American civilization as a whole to admit that its idealism is lethal and out of touch with much of the surrounding civilizations.

Or they are just characters like the thousands of other cartoon characters and you don’t have to philosophize everything lol.
You really don’t read or pay attention,do you?Creators of superman are literally jews. And jews suffer from racial supremacy.Superman’s mom said he will defy Earth’s gravity because of his dense molecular structure XD.That is a prime example of insulting people who have no control over their biological traits.Rings any bell?Jews do this everyday and you lefties pretend to “fight” against racism when you are the one gaslighting the superman or superheroes issue. This is just one scenario btw.
He is also vulnerable to Kryptonite and magic, what does this mean oh deep philosophers of our time lol?
Idk I guess in our time if we want to compare it you have z!0n!st jucie who are supportive of ijrail and so spoiled from not being criticized for legitimate crimes that they burst out like babies playing the victim card. Or if we want to put it in American warfare that even with all the best technology and manpower if a supposed superhero in this case America angers enough people they get enough people to join their enemies that they get whooped like with what happened to America in
Iraq and Afghanistan and Ukraine and Gaza
In the case of Iraq and Afghanistan and Gaza America and ijrail Kia and mistreated so many families that any survivors of those families would go on to join any group that fought against America like Afghanistan and the t@l!ban and in Gaza hamas got 12,000-14,000 new recruits as many of their families have been Kia and having nothing else to fight for they joined Hamas .
What did my comment have to do with a superhero being vulnerable to kryptonite and magic?XDD. If you are a zionist and trying to slip by,just say so. Your defending and gaslighting these propaganda movies says everything about who holds your leash.
You said his traits somehow imply superiority of either nations or a race, so what do the weaknesses imply?
Damn maybe i need to go step by step what i meant by racial superiority and not complete invincibility.Superiority doesn’t mean invincibility. If that doesn’t get into ur head, don’t try anymore and make urself look like a zionist defender.I said about how the superman story fits the jewish mentality of being racially superior.Invulnerability is way out of equation.
So what about all the other superhero characters? Are they all meant to show the racial superiority of the race that created them? And the villains I guess must also mean the race that created them thinks they are the bad guys? Lol. And by the weaknesses of Superman what are they trying to show? What is the hidden message? Please enlighten me lol.
why are you obsessed with superheroes’ weaknesses when i said nothing about their weaknesses?are you delving into a void now?Nowhere have i ever mentioned what the comic writers meant by superheroes’ weaknesses. You are demanding answers to questions which were never asked or could potentially be conveying a message.Did I say that his weaknesses contain hidden messages? You should read first.
I am using your ridiculous logic, if the strengths imply some kind of meaning than the weaknesses would too lol
-_- that was literally your logic wtf. Now you’ve started projecting.you are starting to sound like Goebbels.
So you are saying that the strengths have meaning but the weaknesses either don’t or you haven’t come up with some kind of crazy reasonong lol. The main point is one can come up with an endless amount of interpretations if they choose to. Superman was sent to Earth by his father to help humanity…sounds like Christianity so i guess the Jewish creators were promoting another religion. Or Batman goes outside the law for justice, that must mean the message is to not obey the law and on and on.
Even though my context was not about strength and weakness,i’ll be blunt.because you are not honest and blaming me for not coming up with a reason behind comical superman’s weakness XD.But i can tell you the real superman’s(Israel) weaknesses. They are the Muslims.Oh Israel’s strength is the US temporarily. There you go.The way you are so hellbent on defending the zionists was crazy. You’ve proved it that you are zionist’s tool. Also who are you rooting for the US election?
I want Biden to drop out and I support Marianne Williamson.
You’re dreaming. Trump will win the sympathy vote and beat that stuttering old freak by a landslide, regardless if the attack on his life was genuine or a psyop. Both candidates and sides are owned by AIPAC but it’s delusional at this point in time to expect anything other than 4 yes of Trump-Vance, and possibly a few yrs of President Vance if Trump dies.
It does look that way now, we shall see
If I recall about a year or two years ago you were supporting Biden what changed?
I don’t know about all superheroes lol.If for research purposes, it would take me years to watch them and i won’t do that.Since zionist issue is the context that’s why i mentioned superman and our tv channels would show superman movies like 100 times a month when i was a kid.
Why do you have to mention that superman’s creators are jews. You’re starting to sound like leftist wokies who try to dissect everything into some race conflicts.
Point me out the mistake i made in that please?Had I not seen your comments on this forum i would’ve thought of you as a non-muslim because your last sentence contains a slander which weighs more than the ‘supposed’ mistake i made. But since you are muslim,i will remain silent and won’t go any further. If you still have doubts about me of being lefty woke, kindly refer to the article “High School Rite of Passage: Simulated G*y S*x in Boys Locker Room” and see my replies to wayne’s comment.
U said jews suffer from racial supremacy buts thats only a minority of jews. Besides, if superman technically isnt even a human and if you think that his powers give him advantage, then u ha e to look at all the othrr super heros. Spiderman can do things ordinary humans can’t but does that mean his creator wanted racial supremacy
Not a minority of them. They rejected Islam on several grounds. One of them is rejecting our Prophet(pbuh) just bcz he came from the lineage of Ibrahim’s(pbuh) second wife Hajar who was a slave girl before her marriage with Ibrahim(pbuh).Their whole religion and their idea of identity are built on supremacy rather than logic and accepting revelation that came from Allah the Most high. But I also believe that there are some jews who are not vile like the rest and I also respect them.
There are millions of jews. I think only a few thousand of them have this veiw, not the vast majority. When you say jews believe in racial supremacy, people will think you mean all jews believe. Its like someone saying all muslims are su!c!de bombers when its only an extreme minority. These days most jews are moderate and im not sure if they even care about the lineage of abaraham.
When it is about devils,we mean Jinn but are all Jinns evil? No.When Prophet(pbuh) said to fight the Jews, does it mean all of them?Negative again. They were later on clarified in Qur’an that some christians and jews are good people and we should protect them. These addressing of devils and Jews are applied the same way by me.ofc I don’t think all jews are ev*l.And muslims committing suic*de is straight going against Allah and no real muslim would commit suic*de.So them labeling us as suic*de-
bombers is not same as calling all jews racist. Difference is radical jewish folks practice it and Muslims are completely forbidden to commit suic*de.There were events when templars and crusaders would frequently ambush innocent people dressing as Muslims and covering their faces and project the blame onto Muslims during the Seljuk empire and Ottoman empire and so on.So i really don’t believe suic*de bombers are Muslims.
Yes, but some radical munafiq still commit suicide bombing believing it is for Islam. Just because a minority does it, does it mean that their actions reflect all Muslims because the bombers say they are doing it for Allah? If a Jewish person commits a racial crime, does that automatically mean my Jewish neighbors must be radical and support this?
If superman had all the same powers, same plot, but the only difference is that he had buddhist authors, would you point out that buddhists created him and that buddhits have racial supremacy. Also brother, I have no ill will, I am just confused on your statement. I hope you have a good day
I strictly stayed on the topic of superman because of my limited knowledge on superheroes comic series because of zionist context to test wayne’s loyalty to the left-wing and he failed but still insists on being a leftist. He switches between being a zionist and left-winger.It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who changes his color quite frequently.
So i am a Zionist because I don’t think Superman represents Jewish racial superiority? LOL. You guys are insane
No. Correction. You are a zionist’s tool.
Actually they point to examples such as your Superman take as the reason why Jews are always targeted and thus the need for Zionism lol. So who really is the tool here?
biggest entertainment of my life is hearing jews are always targeted. They are the least targeted now after WW2.The blame is on christians.Jews are criminals because they are the ones who always looked for problems against their prophets.Nobody went upto them and threatened them saying “I have a problem with you”.Rather they tried to kil* Aaron,Jesus,John and so many prophets. The need for zionism is not them being targets but the coming of their king Zion and rule the whole world and enslave
all the non-jews or goyim(lowly people such as you,me and everyone else who is not a jew). That’s their purpose. They are targeted because of their crimes at the time of the prophets and now slau*htering their neighbors who welcomed them.Even Muslims forgave them 23 times from the time of our prophet (pbuh)and the 4 caliphates.Still they are acting like criminals. This is not a sudden antagonism against them. And you defending their right of forming zionism, very funny.
If u existed in time our Prophet(pbuh), would you still have said to him he is instigating race conflicts as mentioned in the hadith? -“You shall fight the Jews. You will gain such control over them, that a rock will say: ‘O Muslim! This Jew is behind me so kil* him!'” = Tirmidhi 2236
were you under a rock in the past 20 years? All these films tried to justify western imperialism via Superman and iron man and many of these films scripts were written by the pentagon and these films were used to justify the genocide of millions of Muslims. And displace millions more.
He is just a zionist’s puddle. He thinks his leftist label is gonna save him even though every action of theirs ultimately aligned with US and zionist atrocities.Look how they tried to blame Afghanistan one after another after they kicked the US goons out of their homeland. The king of simps, prince Harry, a leftoid went to join the w*r alongside US against Afghans to uphold femin*zi values and kil*ed thousands of unarm*d and innocent people there. This lefty is no different.
He says he supports Palestine but if he was sincere he would not vote for any party left or right as a first step
I think when u said racial supremacy, Wayne is trying to argue that superman isn’t invincible and how regular people won’t be affected by kryptonite, but superman is showing how he is inferior compared to humans in some respects.
It’s funny because the crazy right complains that Superman shows that aliens should be accepted and are beneficial so the hint is that immigration is good lol. Just goes to show how some will take something as simple as a fictional character and try to spin whatever controversy they want out of it.
So you’re saying superman is about pro-immigration and nothing else??? bruhh
I mean not really because Superman was one alien while there are millions of immigrants in the west and I am not against immigration itself as an American immigrant myself however I am getting tired of immigrants getting blamed and scapegoated for all of the west’s problems especially in Europe where Muslims are always blamed for everything. I would prefer the borders remain tight shut so these right oid cucks like Douglas Murray and Katie Hopkins and Tommy Robinson have no excuse to blame
Muslims and immigrants but themselves. Secondly did you not read my messages where Superman despite being All powerful has his Achilles heel America getting whooped in Afghanistan and Iraq and now in Gaza via their proxy known as Ijrail.
How is your step-dad Biden doing, comrade Stalinova?
That ‘s a pretty shallow way of viewing these characters. They have been in pop culture for a very long time and symbolize various things. Thus it would make sense that people would have various interpretation of these characters which could be valid.
FYI I would like some articles refuting cuckservatives like Douglas Murray konstiatine kinsk and Jordan Peterson and their justification of western imperialism and so many genocides and wars. Also here’s a question what do you guys think about the claim that the British Kia 1.5-1.8 billion Indians Pakistanis and Bangladeshis and Kashmiris ? The claim was made by a Marxist lady.
Yeah i definitely always wondered why spider-man was one of the most anticipated characters in the MCU, why the occult decided to use someone who has the abitlity to swing around and do whatever he wanted, why a spider specifically, i guess they are the only ones who have the actual reason. Perhaps spider-man is a demon that the occult works with.. but i agree with this article, it makes sense to me now.
