Whites and Feminism: The Greatest Replacement

    One frequently encounters White nationalists online claiming that the White population is rapidly disappearing and is on the verge of becoming a demographic minority. They term this perceived phenomenon the “Great Replacement.”

    However, this argument is analytically weak because it relies on vague definitions, selective comparisons, and a misunderstanding of demographic trends.

    To begin with, the world is not divided into two homogeneous categories, “Whites” and “non-Whites.” The latter category encompasses thousands of distinct ethnic, linguistic, and civilizational groups whose demographic trajectories differ enormously. Treating nearly eight billion people as a single bloc while considering Europeans as a coherent demographic unit creates a false binary with little to no demographic value.

    Moreover, if numerical scarcity alone were evidence of demographic vulnerability, several other populations would have a much stronger case than Europeans.

    The global Jewish population, for example, numbers at only around 15 million (plus a further 5 million if “mixed Jews” were included, especially in the United States and the former Soviet Union). Compare that with hundreds of millions of people of predominantly European descent. In many Western countries, Jews also experience relatively high intermarriage and assimilation rates. This means that, by the same logic often employed by White nationalists, they would constitute a far more demographically vulnerable population.

    The claim that the White population is “small” is itself highly misleading. Even using a conservative definition that counts only the following, the total already nears one billion:

    • Europe (roughly 700 million even if you exclude Türkiye, which contains numerous populations of European descent);
    • The United States and Canada (around 250 million people of European ancestry);
    • Australia and New Zealand (around 24–25 million); and
    • South Africa, together with other European-descended communities in Southern Africa (around 5–6 million).

    A broader estimate is obviously even greater:

    • Latin America contains tens of millions of people of wholly or predominantly European ancestry;
    • Brazil alone has approximately 90–100 million people of predominantly European descent according to many demographic estimates;
    • Argentina has roughly 40–45 million;
    • Uruguay has about 3 million;
    • Chile has around 10–12 million; and
    • There are also substantial additional populations in countries such as Cuba, Costa Rica, southern Brazil, and parts of Venezuela and Colombia.

    Depending on if one counts only those of predominantly European ancestry or also individuals of mixed ancestry who are phenotypically European, reasonable estimates place the global White or predominantly European-descended population at approximately 1.2 billion.

    Furthermore, it is incorrect to claim that Europeans are being replaced throughout their historical homelands. What has changed is the demographic composition of certain major metropolitan areas, i.e., cities such as London and Brussels, not entire countries. However, these cities are statistical outliers rather than being representative of their respective countries.

    Nationally, we see a very different picture. Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Finland, and many other European countries remain overwhelmingly populated by native European populations. Even countries frequently cited in discussions of immigration retain large native majorities at the national level.

    • Germany remains approximately 80%+ ethnically German or European by ancestry;
    • France remains predominantly of European origin despite lacking official ethnic statistics;
    • The Netherlands remains around 75–80% ethnically Dutch or European; and
    • The United Kingdom remains roughly 80% White according to the most recent census (even its “most replaced” nation, England, is around 70-75% White, which is probably also what the numbers look like for France).

    However, I want to be a little provocative here and put forward a different demographic argument.

    Rather than claiming that Europeans are being “replaced,” one may argue that the White population of the Western world would likely be substantially larger today under a different set of legal, cultural, and social conditions, especially in the absence of feminism – particularly second-wave feminism – and all other forms of gynocentric policies and cultural attitudes.

    These include the legalization and widespread availability of abortion, the postponement of marriage and childbearing, rising rates of permanent childlessness, declining completed family size, and a cultural shift away from large families, toward individual career and lifestyle priorities. All of these directly impact the fertility profiles of populations.

    Indeed, if one applies these demographic mechanisms to populations of predominantly European descent, the cumulative effects become considerable (please remember that our “conservative” estimate for the global White-European population is 1 billion, and the “higher” estimate, that is, including those who look White-European but might be mixed, especially in Latin America, is 1.3 billion).

    Legal Abortion

    The United States has recorded more than 63 million legal abortions since 1973. Europe has recorded roughly 70–80 million legal abortions over a similar period. Assuming, as an upper-bound scenario, that each abortion would otherwise have resulted in a live birth, this represents approximately 130–145 million additional people, increasing the global European-descended population from 1.0 billion to roughly 1.13–1.15 billion; or from 1.2 billion to approximately 1.33–1.35 billion.

    Higher Fertility

    Had fertility remained near 2.7–3.2 children per woman instead of declining to 1.2–1.8, Western populations today could plausibly be 10–20% larger. Applied globally, this corresponds to approximately 100–200 million additional people under the conservative estimate; or 120–240 million under the broader estimate.

    Earlier Marriage

    If the average age at first marriage had remained around 22–24 rather than rising to 29–32, completed family size would likely have increased modestly. Even a 2–5% increase in births would correspond to approximately 20–50 million additional people under the lower estimate; or 24–60 million under the broader estimate.

    Permanent Childlessness

    In several Western countries, permanent childlessness has increased from roughly 5–10%, to around 20–25%. Returning to earlier levels could plausibly add another 30–60 million people under the conservative estimate; or 35–70 million under the broader estimate.

    Larger Family Size

    An increase from today’s average of roughly 1–2 children per family, toward 3–4 children wouldn’t merely increase births in one generation, it would also compound across subsequent generations. Over several decades, this could reasonably account for 100–250 million additional people under the lower estimate; or 120–300 million under the broader estimate.

    When considered together, the above suggests that the present-day global population of predominantly European descent could plausibly be 10–30% larger than it is today under these assumptions. Starting from the conservative estimate of 1 billion, this would imply a counterfactual population of roughly 1.1–1.3 billion. Starting from the broader estimate of 1.2 billion, the corresponding figure would be approximately 1.3–1.55 billion.

    Thus, many of the same people who warn incessantly about the “Great Replacement” rarely ask a much simpler question: what if the greatest reduction in the potential European population did not come from (Islamic) immigration but, instead, from decades of below-replacement fertility, delayed marriage, widespread abortion, and shrinking family size… that is, from diffuse cultural feminism and enforced gynocentrism?

    If demographics truly determine the future of civilizations, then the first question should not be “Who entered Europe?” but, rather, “How many Europeans were never born when they possibly could’ve been?”

    From this perspective, large-scale immigration appears less as the original cause of demographic change and more as a response to it. Western governments increasingly turned to immigration because native fertility remained below replacement for decades. Had birth rates remained substantially higher, the economic and demographic pressures driving mass immigration would have been far less pronounced.

    Without feminism, there might never have been any sort of serious debate about the “Great Replacement” at all, since a (much) larger native European population would have made immigration proportionally far less significant.

    Also, (Kosher) nationalist narratives often portray the medieval Islamic conquests as one of history’s greatest demographic threats to Europe. Yet, if the “hypothetical” estimates discussed above are even approximately correct, the cumulative demographic effects of low fertility, abortion, delayed family formation, and smaller families could have reduced the potential European population by far more than these conquests ever did.

    1. Bheria is always a treat to read from Muslim Skeptic, but I feel that this article of his is a bit on the weaker side.

      White Nationalists usually argue the feminist embedded so-called “birthrate decline” mentioned here in the article in tandem with the “Muslim populations” and their comparatively “higher birth rates”.

    2. The implication being that the disparity in demographics doesn’t stop at just the major metropolitan centers, which majoritarily were previously white, it becomes the rest of the rest of the country and happens incrementally. It’s important to keep this in mind when critiquing the White Nationalists.

      Muslim Skeptic has produced great pieces against WN that even got some of them to convert to Islam, but this article is lacking meat and it won’t really convince them.

    3. If the Ottomans didn’t lose the Battle of Vienna, then later conquered Paris and London, perhaps Liberalism wouldn’t have emerged, J–s wouldn’t have been given equal rights, feminism wouldn’t have came about, and these Europeans wouldn’t have commited civilizational suicide via WW2.

    4. Unfortunately, feminism is causing very serious damage to muslim populations too…

      In Muslim countries such as those in North Africa (Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) the birth rate is falling at breakneck speed… Within a few decades(even sooner) they will be at the same level as countries like Hungary or Bulgaria….
